FREQUENTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS

  • CAN WE VISIT THE NURSERY?

Parents considering Nesham Private Nursery can arrange a visit with or without their child.

Come and meet our friendly staff and see for yourself the stimulating activities and happy environment that's available.

Introductory visits are free of charge, and designed to help your child get used to the environment and settle in.

  • WHAT DO I BRING?

All children should have spare clothes in case of accidents or spills. Parents of children in our baby room should provide formula or baby food.

Where appropriate, parents should supply nappies, wipes and any nappy cream required.

  • WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?

Nursery uniform is available, though not compulsory, for children aged 2½ and upwards.

This consists of a polo top and sweatshirt or cardigan. Fleece jackets and waterproof coats are available for winter.

  • WHO IS LOOKING AFTER MY CHILD?

We operate a key worker system. Where possible, the child is encouraged to choose their own key worker in a natural and comfortable way.

Safeguarding statement

Nesham Nursery’s safeguarding policy aims to provide clear direction to staff and others on expected codes of behaviour when dealing with child protection issues. This policy makes clear the nurseries commitment to the development of good practice and sound procedure. The purpose of the policy is therefore to ensure that child protection concerns and referrals are handled sensitively, professionally and in a way that supports the needs of the child.

Will my child be safe?

All staff are DBS cleared prior to employment.
We have a robust fingerprint system to prevent any unauthorised access in or out of the building. However if on occasion you are unable to collect your child and require someone else to come you must inform staff beforehand.
Health and safety checks are carried out daily on equipment and resources. We do however promote a natural environment and use lots of natural products both indoors and outdoors. Our resources are all age appropriate and found in a natural environment or purchased from appropriate educational suppliers.
