SAFEGUARDING
Nesham Nursery safeguarding policy is designed to offer clear guidance to staff and others regarding the expected standards of behaviour in relation to child protection matters. This policy underscores the nursery’s commitment to promoting good practice and established procedures. Its primary aim is to ensure that concerns and referrals related to child protection are managed with sensitivity, professionalism, and in a manner that prioritises the needs of the child.
Parents should be aware that the nursery will take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety of children and their family members. If there are concerns that a child may be at risk of significant harm, ill treatment, neglect, or any form of abuse, staff must follow the procedures set out by the Sunderland Local Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) as well as the relevant statutory framework. Additionally, if staff observe any concerning behaviour, it will be documented and monitored. Parents and carers will be informed before any actions are taken.
Safeguarding is the responsibility of all staff. However, the following staff members have specific roles within the setting:
Dawn Hull - Designated Safeguarding Lead
