We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all children and parents to our Butterfly room and share some information with yourselves. Our setting and room layout is based around the EYFS (Early year’s foundation framework). We follow a 1:4 ratio, taking a holistic ‘child centred’ approach,. Observing, enhancing and adapting activities on a daily basis as we believe we learn best from your child. Your child teaches us more about themselves when they are engaged and have their own interests met. We follow the key person approach where the child once settled chooses their own secure attachment. The key persons role is to support the child's development, support relationships, emotions, individualise each child’s care based on their development, interests and home routines as well as building trust and relationships with the child parents/carers. All planning, observations and daily diaries can be viewed through your child’s online learning journey on the Famly app. Transitioning into a new setting or room is a big step for the children and every child’s experience is unique to them. We feel as a collective, offering an integrated approach supporting each child’s transition is essential and we work closely with your child to gain insight on their interests to provide a smooth transition. We offer support on an individual basis, and this will vary depending on the level of support your child needs so don’t worry, it can take as long or as little as needed
